Abstract

One of health problem that often arises in the elderly population is a decline in cognitive function. This cognitive function is obtained through the interaction between the formal environment, namely education and non-formal environment that is obtained from everyday life. This cognitive function can affect a person's level of independence. Impaired cognitive functions often have an impact on social life, psychological and physical activity of the elderly. Objective To find out the factors associated with decreased cognitive function in the elderly at Puskesmas Kec. Panumbangan Regency. Ciamis

Correlational research design with cross sectional research design. The population in this study amounted to 38 people, with a total sample of 38 people. Research results The results of data analysis with the chi-square. With a critical limit of 0.05 or can be compared by comparing the calculated chi-square value with the chi-square table. If the value of sig <0.05 then there is a significant relationship, and if the value of sig> 0.05 then there is a significant relationship. There is a relationship between the age factor with decreased cognitive function in the elderly, There is no relationship between the sex factor with the decline in cognitive function in the elderly, There is a relationship between disease history factors with decreased cognitive function in the elderly, There is a relationship between nutritional status factors and a decline in cognitive function in the elderly.
